🌟 The Life Story of Johar Mohammed Umer
My name is Johar Mohammed Umer, born on September 11, 1992, in Dorrobba village, part of the Gaara Mullataa area in Gurawa District, Oromia Region, Ethiopia. I was raised by my father, Mohammed Umer, and mother, Zahar Usman Ahmed.
📘 My Educational Journey
My education started in 1998 at Dorrobba Primary School (Grades 1–4). I then studied at Dogu Primary and Secondary School (Grades 5–10) and completed my high school natural science education at Gurawa Secondary School (Grades 11–12). In 2013, I was accepted into Jigjiga University, studying Statistics to pursue a career in data and community development.
🌍 Journey to Qatar and Community Leadership
In 2016, I moved to Doha, Qatar on a work visa. Life was difficult, but I accepted every challenge with strength. I worked hard and rose to serve as:
Executive Leader of the Oromo Community in Qatar
Executive Coordinator for the Oromia Media Network (OMN) Cooperation Committee in Doha
Our mission was to promote the Oromo struggle to the global community. During this time, we faced serious human rights violations, including the unlawful blockage of our Qatar ID cards by the Ethiopian Embassy in Doha. These actions denied us the right to move and live freely. Still, I stood strong with my community and spoke out for justice.
🔥 Activism and the Digital Movement
Since 2020, I have played an active role in the Qeerroo youth movement, joining the fight for freedom, dignity, and justice for Oromo people and all Ethiopians.
I also use social media to spread awareness, share motivation, and inspire youth toward education, identity, and civic responsibility.
